Arnstadt, also named Bach City is a little city in the middle of Thüringen and is situated directly at the river Gera approximately 20 km of the region capital Erfurt.
Arnstadt is the eldest city which was founded in the year 704. Arnstadt is one of Germany´s 5 Johan Sebastian Bach cities.
Arnstadt preserved his historical city center very well and still has a partial preserved city wall. Arnstadt is also called the door to the Thüringen forest.
The Ilm region offers a variety of museums, churches, Castles and great shopping possibilities.
In the winter it has to offer a lot of activities in the area, Skidoo, Alpine ski, cross country ski and lots more.
